Since its beginnings as a Spanish outpost, California has long flourished in the popular imagination as a place where the cream rises and the bold take flight. Bluegold celebrates this land, from citrus groves to the rocky coast, with a renewal of the California coastal eatery. Chef Tin Vuong and partner Jed Sanford of Blackhouse continue their innovation in the dining world by taking farm-to-table back to its roots; back to a time where leisure met cuisine and culture was drawn from the earth and sea. Bluegold invites you to relax by the ocean and enjoy elegant dining, whether fresh oysters from the steam kettle or savory steak grilled over charcoal, or simply a glass of soothing wine below the California sun.

Anyone who has been to The Bungalow in Santa Monica knows what a perfect fit it is for Pacific City, so it’s no wonder hospitality guru Brent Bolthouse was one of the first, progressive entrepreneurs to sign on after this unique destination on the coast was announced. Bringing all the charm and distinctive character of the Santa Monica hot spot to his second location, Bolthouse once again draws inspiration from the local, laid-back style of the California beach and surf culture in carefully curated spaces that are totally unique in their soulfulness and authentic vibe. Bolthouse knows quite a lot about the kinds of places people want to spend time in, and has been quoted as saying “We’re anxious to open our doors at Pacific City and warmly welcome the community to The Bungalow.” Guests can expect an intimate lounge, private dining room, main bar space, al fresco patio, expansive views and rustic and vintage elements used in totally original ways. With the hottest DJs, coolest people-watching, delicious food from The Bungalow's culinary partner, Bear Flag Fish Co., and signature cocktails, this will soon become “the place to be” in Orange County.
Beginning in 1971 as Great Earth Vitamins with a commitment to the premise that proper supplementation can vastly improve one’s quality of life, this wellness concept forged a vanguard position as an early category leader. In 2007, Great Earth launched Earthbar, emerging onto the scene in West Hollywood, California on a mission to add a new component of a “food as medicine” juice bar, along with a full line of highest quality products and supplements. In 2009, Earthbar’s mission grabbed the attention of Equinox Fitness, and a partnership was formed to bring the concept into most of Southern California’s Equinox Fitness facilities. Earthbar is excited to continue to bring the highest quality nutrition to more people seeking accessible ways to incorporate the best in health and wellness into their lives, marrying the healthy lifestyle of Equinox members and reflecting what the SoCal lifestyle embodies – being fit, achieving optimal health, and taking advantage of all the California coastal lifestyle has to offer.

Owner Tonino grew up in Rome where his passion for gelato started at a young age! He shares that love at Gelateria Zomolo where guests at Pacific City can enjoy artisanal gelato and sorbet that is made in the shop daily. With a keen understanding of the surrounding lifestyle and the importance of “fresh”, visitors can expect classic favorites that will never disappoint, as well as more adventurous flavors such as hazelnut, pistachio, pomegranate sorbet and many more that will satisfy the palette and offer a light and delicious treat while strolling the decks and enjoying the view at Pacific City. This charming gelateria also serves specialty espresso drinks including affogato, which is gelato topped with a shot of espresso, handmade pastries and other specialty crafted chocolates. Our mouth is watering just thinking about the deliciousness in store!
Hans' Homemade Ice Cream
This “old school” creamery isn’t trying too hard to be “cool” – they always were! A favorite of Orange County locals since their original location opened in 1972, Hans’ churns out ice cream made on-site in small batches and serves up killer cones, shakes, sundaes, chocolate-dipped bananas and more. One word perfectly describes Hans - YUM!!

LSXO, a concept-within-a-concept, inside Bluegold at Pacific City, is the brainchild of Chef Tin Vuong of Blackhouse Hospitality. Cuisine is inspired by District 1 in Saigon (where Tin’s family hails from) and dishes range from more traditional to innovative amongst a stunning hideaway overlooking the Huntington Beach pier. The afternoon tea offerings, in particular, are quite unique and draw upon Chinese/Vietnamese tea culture. Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach and Downtown Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined, expat feel.
LSXO draws inspiration from Southern Vietnam with a number of Chinese influences. While the menu is 90% different from Little Sister, a handful of signature dishes are offered, such as the Beef Tar Tare, Imperial Rolls, and Salt & Pepper Lobster. Lunch & Dinner items range from cold plates from the garde manger to salads, rice paper rolls, fish & shellfish, meat & poultry, both dry and soupy noodles, and banh mi (lunch only). A unique addition, LSXO debuts Afternoon Tea, featuring a selection of open-faced finger sandwiches, French pastries, and specialty sweets to complement an array of international tea blends
Nardo’ Italian Kitchen
Diners at Nardò can feast on classic Southern Italian dishes with the freshest, locally sourced ingredients and Italian produce and meats, including fresh pasta topped with Wild Boar, Oxtail, clams, scallops, truffle cream and more. The pasta will be freshly made every day in the center of the restaurant, and guests can enjoy small plates and Italian tapas-style dishes including Burrata, Prosciutto, and Neapolitan Meatballs. Renowned Pizzaiolo Antonio Greco from Naples, Italy will be spearheading Nardò’s pizza operations, which will be made in a special wood fired oven handcrafted and imported from Italy. Antonio is famously known for hand delivering a yellow cherry tomato and buffalo mozzarella pizza to the Pope in 2015 during his visit to Naples.
Ola Mexican Kitchen
Ola, which is Spanish for “wave” and Hawaiian for “life”, is the inspiration behind Ola Mexican Kitchen, an exciting and tasty new first-to-market culinary concept from the Huntington Beach-based team behind the popular Mahe restaurant in Seal Beach. The brainchild of progressive restaurateurs Toby Reece and Tony Andrews, this inviting restaurant at Pacific City, with one of the best views on the California coast from almost every seat in the house, makes its debut with an innovative menu fusing elements of authentic Mexican comfort food with elevated, South of the Border influences. The warm yet soulfully rustic modern ambience offering live music and a strong sense of community is creatively fresh, shunning the cliché of the typical Mexican cantina in favor of a more relevant coastal dining room with elements compatible with Pacific City’s surrounding, architectural environment.

In 2007, after an illustrious career in the culinary world with the creation of several successful restaurants following his graduation from Cornell’s prestigious Hotel School, Mike Simms (along with his brother Chris) decided Manhattan Beach needed a neighborhood spot where they could experience a simple, delicious burger and some quality craft beer and wine. In 2009, Simmzy’s was born. After carefully growing the concept in strategically chosen neighborhoods in Southern California, he chose Pacific City. Situated in a front-and-center location adjacent to the main Event’s Plaza with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the iconic HB pier, Simmzy’s offers the most mouthwatering and innovative burgers, billing themselves, quite appropriately, as a local pub featuring artisan foods, craft beers and small production wines. This is neighborhood fare at its best, with a surfer’s sensibility and a great time and atmosphere at the heart of a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. “Meet me at Simmzy’s” will no doubt soon become a familiar and often repeated statement in your personal vocabulary!
