  • LSXO

LSXO, a concept-within-a-concept, inside Bluegold at Pacific City, is the brainchild of Chef Tin Vuong of Blackhouse Hospitality. Cuisine is inspired by District 1 in Saigon (where Tin’s family hails from) and dishes range from more traditional to innovative amongst a stunning hideaway overlooking the Huntington Beach pier. The afternoon tea offerings, in particular, are quite unique and draw upon Chinese/Vietnamese tea culture. Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach and Downtown Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined, expat feel. LSXO draws inspiration from Southern Vietnam with a number of Chinese influences. While the menu is 90% different from Little Sister, a handful of signature dishes are offered, such as the Beef Tar Tare, Imperial Rolls, and Salt & Pepper Lobster. Lunch & Dinner items range from cold plates from the garde manger to salads, rice paper rolls, fish & shellfish, meat & poultry, both dry and soupy noodles, and banh mi (lunch only). A unique addition, LSXO debuts Afternoon Tea, featuring a selection of open-faced finger sandwiches, French pastries, and specialty sweets to complement an array of international tea blends

  • Simmzy's

In 2007, after an illustrious career in the culinary world with the creation of several successful restaurants following his graduation from Cornell’s prestigious Hotel School, Mike Simms (along with his brother Chris) decided Manhattan Beach needed a neighborhood spot where they could experience a simple, delicious burger and some quality craft beer and wine.  In 2009, Simmzy’s was born.  After carefully growing the concept in strategically chosen neighborhoods in Southern California, he chose Pacific City.  Situated in a front-and-center location adjacent to the main Event’s Plaza with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the iconic HB pier, Simmzy’s offers the most mouthwatering and innovative burgers, billing themselves, quite appropriately, as a local pub featuring artisan foods, craft beers and small production wines.  This is neighborhood fare at its best, with a surfer’s sensibility and a great time and atmosphere at the heart of a place you’ll want to come back to again and again.  “Meet me at Simmzy’s” will no doubt soon become a familiar and often repeated statement in your personal vocabulary!
