Ways & Means Oyster House is OPEN, and totally tempting us with pineapple jalapeno oysters, chorizo & hot sauce oysters (aka Trailer Park Oysters) and so much more…
Their new home is on Deck 1 at Pacific City, with stunning prime oceanfront views. The huge patio, high-top wood chairs and white picket fence are reminiscent of classic fish houses and oyster bars found in coastal cities around the world. I see quite a few lazy Sunday afternoons in my future….
In addition to a great environment and tasty menu, Ways & Means selected Pacific City as the perfect spot to launch their private wine label. Have the bartender pour you a glass to enjoy on the patio – and make sure to pair it with some fresh oysters. If you prefer to grab a bottle and go, you can purchase this wine at their first culinary retail store, Ways & Means At Home, opening in February! Make sure to come back then and check out the collection of cookbooks, packaged goods, house-made sauces & rubs and other cool stuff. This store will also host ongoing demonstrations by top chefs and special tastings, as well.
One of my favorite small bites on the menu were the eggplant fries, topped with powdered sugar (yes, you read that right) and served with a side of spicy sriracha sauce. The combination of sweet and savory, with a kick of spicy had my palette dancing.
Do they have awesome daily specials? Absolutely!
Sunset Social – Every day from 2PM to sunset, enjoy Chopin wheat & rye vodka and Plymouth gin martinis for $6 or a bucket of Chandon bubbles for $40.
Maine Monday - $9.99 whole main lobsters while they last…reserve yours now.
Dude’s Day (otherwise known as Tuesday) – Celebrate the “dude” over the Dude’s Brewing Company craft beers; wear your bowling shirt and bring your Big Lebowski trivia knowledge to win cool prizes.
Fizz Friday - $10 glasses of premium champagne; selections of $6 sparkling cocktails; $10 chef’s choice half dozen oysters. How else do you think I get my boss to leave the office early?!
