Beginning in 1971 as Great Earth Vitamins with a commitment to the premise that proper supplementation can vastly improve one’s quality of life, this wellness concept forged a vanguard position as an early category leader. In 2007, Great Earth launched Earthbar, emerging onto the scene in West Hollywood, California on a mission to add a new component of a “food as medicine” juice bar, along with a full line of highest quality products and supplements. In 2009, Earthbar’s mission grabbed the attention of Equinox Fitness, and a partnership was formed to bring the concept into most of Southern California’s Equinox Fitness facilities. Earthbar is excited to continue to bring the highest quality nutrition to more people seeking accessible ways to incorporate the best in health and wellness into their lives, marrying the healthy lifestyle of Equinox members and reflecting what the SoCal lifestyle embodies – being fit, achieving optimal health, and taking advantage of all the California coastal lifestyle has to offer.

LSXO: No. 40 best place to eat in Orange County
LSXO, a concept-within-a-concept, inside Bluegold at Pacific City, is the brainchild of Chef Tin Vuong of Blackhouse Hospitality. Cuisine is inspired by District 1 in Saigon (where Tin’s family hails from) and dishes range from more traditional to innovative amongst a stunning hideaway overlooking the Huntington Beach pier. The afternoon tea offerings, in particular, are quite unique and draw upon Chinese/Vietnamese tea culture. Behind an unmarked door adjacent to the wine room, guests are transported to District 1 (China Town) in Saigon via Blackhouse’s 28-seat restaurant-within-a-restaurant, LSXO. A spinoff of the Little Sister brand (Manhattan Beach and Downtown Angeles), LSXO is love letter to the culture, heritage, and lineage of Vietnam (Vuong’s relatives hail from the region). While Little Sister is known for its French Vietnamese menu, LSXO follows the same Southeast Asian inspiration with a more refined, expat feel.
LSXO draws inspiration from Southern Vietnam with a number of Chinese influences. While the menu is 90% different from Little Sister, a handful of signature dishes are offered, such as the Beef Tar Tare, Imperial Rolls, and Salt & Pepper Lobster. Lunch & Dinner items range from cold plates from the garde manger to salads, rice paper rolls, fish & shellfish, meat & poultry, both dry and soupy noodles, and banh mi (lunch only). A unique addition, LSXO debuts Afternoon Tea, featuring a selection of open-faced finger sandwiches, French pastries, and specialty sweets to complement an array of international tea blends
Bluegold is located on the top level of Pacific City at 21010 Pacific Coast Hwy., Huntington Beach, CA 92648. The restaurant serves California coastal cuisine alongside craft wines, beers, and inventive cocktails. Bluegold is open Monday-Sunday for breakfast, lunch, “in between,” and dinner (9am to close). In 2007, after an illustrious career in the culinary world with the creation of several successful restaurants following his graduation from Cornell’s prestigious Hotel School, Mike Simms (along with his brother Chris) decided Manhattan Beach needed a neighborhood spot where they could experience a simple, delicious burger and some quality craft beer and wine. In 2009, Simmzy’s was born. After carefully growing the concept in strategically chosen neighborhoods in Southern California, he chose Pacific City. Situated in a front-and-center location adjacent to the main Event’s Plaza with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the iconic HB pier, Simmzy’s offers the most mouthwatering and innovative burgers, billing themselves, quite appropriately, as a local pub featuring artisan foods, craft beers and small production wines. This is neighborhood fare at its best, with a surfer’s sensibility and a great time and atmosphere at the heart of a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. “Meet me at Simmzy’s” will no doubt soon become a familiar and often repeated statement in your personal vocabulary!

Mother and daughter duo Becky Pierce and Stephanie Holdridge are Huntington Beach residents, and like lots of HB locals, they’ve watched the progress and anxiously awaited the opening of Pacific City. But these artistic ladies are special – they are experienced merchants with a beloved and delightful one-of-a-kind baby and children’s boutique, Smocking Birds. We feel so lucky to have enticed them to open their charming shop here, featuring traditional hand-smocked dresses and rompers, fresh and fun boys and girls apparel sized from newborn to size 6, as well as small-fry beach accessories, gifts, and classic children’s books. Whether you’re shopping for your own little ones or looking for the perfect gift, Smocking Birds won’t disappoint. This indie shop oozes charm, with an interior environment and personal touches that show, in every window display, rack and shelf that this is truly a labor of love. Whether it’s Becky sitting behind the counter smocking garments or Stephanie putting the finishing touches on a sweet and utterly appealing shop display, you will always feel special and personally attended to at this Pacific City favorite. Welcome home, Becky and Stephanie!

In the summer of 2003 the Anderson brothers began printing custom t-shirts out the back of their Father’s and Grandfather‘s southern California print shop. What began as a fun hobby supplying merchandise to local bands evolved into a passion that is now a successful business and full time gig! The Tankfarm brand can be found in America’s most prestigious stores. Paying homage to three generations of printing, all Tankfarm American-made t-shirts are tagged with a signature 1950 photograph of their Grandfather, Richard H. Anderson (1930 – 2012). The Anderson brothers’ latest retail venture, Tankfarm & Co., is a general supply store for today’s gentleman of sport and leisure. The original is based in their hometown of Seal Beach, California, and now they move a bit down the road to a key position at Pacific City. Their aesthetic is classic, smart and rooted in tradition and their mission is to purvey only goods with the highest quality materials and reliable construction that will stand the test of time.

Owners Jennifer and Parnell Delcham have found what they believe to be a perfect location for their ocean-to-table dining destination, and you’ll find Ways & Means Oyster House situated front and center on the main events plaza at Pacific City. Their original restaurant in Orange was named one of the best new restaurants of 2013 by OC Register food critic Brad A. Johnson, and #1 Oyster House in Orange County in 2014 by Locale Magazine. Featuring fresh, sustainably-caught seafood and highly creative ingredients, their new Huntington Beach location takes a slight departure from the former surf and turf cuisine of their original restaurant to focus on lighter seafood and vegetarian plates. The oyster offering is expanded, to include raw oysters and clams paired with mignonette, lemon and Tabasco, stunning seafood towers and creamy lobster bisque among other favorites. With both menu and interior environment paying homage to classic oyster bars and fish houses found in coastal cities around the world, Ways & Means offers an innovative wine list complementing the coastal cuisine, and classic cocktails to sip while you enjoy the view. Desserts are hardly an afterthought here – enjoy the delicious, light fare and leave room for a dessert well worth the trip in it’s own right!
Daily Wine Tasting
Guests can now enjoy daily wine tasting at Ways & Means Oyster House! Every day from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm, enjoy 3 wines for $9.99 (3 oz pours). Each month, the Ways & Means team rotates 12 wines to chose from for this daily special. For more information, call (714) 960-4300.

They are excited to debut their second shop at Pacific City. If there was ever a better place to buy cool goods reflecting the prevailing mood and the popular culture, we don’t know where that would be! Urban Outfitters has been described as hipster, stylish, kitschy, irreverent, bohemian and retro, and its apparel, accessories, home and apartment goods, books, gifts and other accouterments reflect all of the above. Their ever-changing inventory brings loyal customers coming back again and again to see the latest and newest, and their new location here in Huntington Beach is no exception.
