Hurley Surf Club Presents
Movie Premiere: The Seawolf
Cold Water Surfing Featuring Pete Devries
Coldwater surfing has come a long way since the days of wool sweaters and fires on the beach. Thanks to modern wetsuit technology and sharper exploration skills, there’s a growing legion of world-class surfers who seek out world-class waves in places where surfing was never meant to exist.
Canadian cinematographer Ben Gulliver’s first feature length film The Seawolf takes us to these places and reveals frigid-water surfing at its best. Working with surfers Pete Devries, Chippa Wilson, Balaram Stack and others, Gulliver dodges icebergs, orcas and frostbite to document waves in some of the most scenic backdrops on the planet. A must-see for surf and ocean fans alike.
The premiere will be followed by a Q+A session with Pete Devries and Ben Gulliver. Watch the trailer here and sign up to attend. Giveaways, photo opportunities and food and drink are available. In order to participate, you must be 13 years or older to register.
